ELENA DEBOLD

Site of Arrest is a photography installation from the Looking Out series. The work documents the exact place where Thomas was arrested. Only the sky and the ground is photographed so the audience is left in want, a similar want, though one immeasurably less devastating, to that of an imprisoned person missing the world outside the prison walls. It also leaves the audience in the position of only sharing the same sky and ground with Thomas since it is the horizon (barbed wire fences, cinderblock walls, the guard towers) that seperates "us" from "them."
