Hold

Hold is an installation triggered by touching plastic casts of human hands. Once the hands are held, a woman describes her experience of being raped, including the aftermath and her recovery. This piece puts the audience in the position of a witness, solidifying the events in the eyes of the survivor while giving legitimacy to the experiences through the audience’s intimate interactions with the piece.
