The Hole is a video, audio, and tactile installation in the 

Looking Out series. Included in the audio is a poem written by Thomas titled “The Hole”. Visitors are invited to dip their hands into the water while experiencing the installation. The basin measures six feet by eight feet, the exact dimensions of Thomas’s current cell. The work combines Thomas's current circumstance of incarceration with the trauma he expierienced when he almost drowned as a child.
